Delivery Services
In addition to interoffice and USPS mail service, the following
delivery services are available for departmental use.
State
Inter-agency Mail
This
service provides inexpensive delivery to state agency offices in
Connecticut. We can pick up interagency mail with your other outgoing
mail, or you can deliver it to Mail Services by 4 p.m. Please make sure
to address your mail or package clearly.
Express
Mail and Special Services
Express
mail is an extremely reliable and fast delivery service available
through Mail Services. Letters, documents and other items intended for
express mail will be picked up with your outgoing mail, or you can
deliver your express mail to Mail Services by 4 p.m. Please complete a
mailing form, available from Mail Services, and attach it to your
express mail.
Special services such as Registered Mail, Insured Mail, Special
Delivery, and Return Receipts are also available.
International
Mail
How
an international piece of mail is addressed has a great impact on
whether it is delivered on time, or delivered at all. The U.S. Postal
Service requests that the last line of an international address be the
country of destination in all caps (in English). Every country has its
own unique addressing format and postal code that must also be used.
Language differences increase the chances of poor delivery. A sample of
how to address foreign mail is as follows:
