Who Wants to be A Mathematician

The mathematics department at Western Connecticut State University offers programs that lead to both a BA and a BS in mathematics.  We offer BS programs in both Elementary Education and Secondary Education.

Departmental faculty have diverse interests including Algebra, Dynamical Systems, History of Mathematics, Statistics, Geometry, Teacher Education, Applications of Technology, Actuarial Science, ENO-WENO non-linear Finite Difference schemes, Industrial Mathematics, Numerical Solution of Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Scientific Computing and Wavelets in applications

Classes make use of technological tools including Maple 2015, Minitab and the Geometer's Sketchpad.  Many courses include weekly laboratory experiments.
