Andrew Rodgers
Assistant Professor of Music (Special Appointment 08-09) Andrew Rodgers received his Master of Music Degree from The Juilliard School in 1984 and his Bachelor of Music Degree from Western Connecticut State University in 1981. He is currently a member of the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, Opera Orchestra of New York, and The Ridgefield Orchestra. In addition he has performed with The Hartford, New Haven, Springfield and American Symphony Orchestras, The Brooklyn Philharmonic, Long Island Philharmonic, Philharmonia Virtuosi, The American Ballet Theatre Orchestra, and The New York Pops Orchestra. Mr. Rodgers has toured Europe and the United States with The Paul Whiteman Orchestra, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti. He has been a featured performer at the Vermont Mozart Festival and Lincoln Center Out-0f-Doors Festival. In 1996 he premiered PDQ Bach’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Crocodile” at Alice Tully Hall. Mr. Rodgers has recorded for the Verve, BMG, Sony and Nonesuch labels, with J.J. Johnson, The Eos Orchestra, The Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, Opera Orchestra of New York and Phillip Glass. He can be heard on soundtracks to the motion pictures: The Stepford Wives, Secret Window, Fargo, Kundun and What Planet Are You From?
