Lee Metcalf came to New York by way of Chicago, where he studied and taught at the Bloom School of jazz and established himself as one of the area’s finest guitar players, working regularly with such Chicago legends as Ira Sullivan, Lin Halliday and Von Freeman. Since moving to New York in 1994, Lee has given over 2,000 performances in major venues that include Birdland, the Blue Note, Smoke and Small with many notable artists such as Bobby Watson, Jon Faddis and Todd Coolman. He has been a professional musician for over twenty years and recently completed his masters in music at SUNY Purchase.
