Timeline for NEASC Self-Study
Summer 2011 Steering Committee
- Read WCSU Self-Study Report 2003, NEASC Fifth Year Report, Progress Report 2006, Acceptance letters of 2006 and 2008 Progress Reports and results of 2002 Faculty/Staff Survey
- Read new Standards
- Determine themes/guiding principles for Self-Study
- Finalize Chairs of Standards committees
- Preliminary Timeline and Self Study process established
- Develop a campus-wide communications plan for Self Study process
- Begin Data Forms, 2009-10 and 2010-11
- Identify IT needs
- Decide whether Faculty/Staff survey is needed
- Update website to announce Self-Study process
Fall semester 2011
- President’s announcement of NEASC Accreditation, Steering Committee and Standards Committee
- Take NEASC workshop, October 13 and 14
- Kick-off meeting of Steering Committee, Standards Committees Chairs and key stakeholders
- Role and Responsibilities of Steering Committee and Chairs
- Charge to Standards Committees
- Share strategy and guidelines for drafts-- template, length etc.
- Distribute literature from NEASC workshop
- Committee outreach (to faculty, staff, students, alumni, Danbury community)
- Set deadlines
- Standard Committee Chairs
- Determine committee members
- Hold first meeting to discuss process for collecting data and writing deadlines
- Submit to Steering committee process, deadlines and outreach activities
Spring semester 2012
Work on draft of Standards
- All committees meeting at least monthly
- Determine what data need to be collected to respond to standards
- Outreach activities as compiling draft
- March 16, 2012 Progress Report meeting, Steering Committee with Chairs
Summer 2012
- Data Forms 2011-12 completed
- June 15, 2012: Drafts of the 11 Standards given to Steering Committee and editor for feedback
- August 15, 2012: Steering Committee and editor complete review of drafts of the 11 Standards and data and return to Chairs for revisions
Fall semester 2012
- Nov. 1, 2012 Chairs revise drafts of 11 Standards using feedback from Steering Committee and editor.
Spring semester 2013
- February 15: Drafts submitted by Chairs
- March 22: Steering Committee and Deans retreat to critique drafts
- April 5: Revisions of each Standard are completed
- April 15: Oscar completes one-voice draft for Steering Committee, campus community and general public to review
- April 18: Draft Self-Study is posted on the WCSU website for review and comment
- April 29 and 30: Open forums on campus to receive feedback on Self-Study draft
- May: Steering committee reviews draft and makes recommendations to Oscar. Oscar completes revised Self-Study
Summer 2013
- June : Self-Study draft sent to NEASC for feedback
- July: Receive comments from NEASC and incorporate comments into Self-Study
- August: Executive Committee approves final document. Self-Study send to Visiting Team and NEASC
September 29-October 2, 2013 NEASC Visiting Team on campus
