DANBURY, CONN. — Best-selling author Daniel Mendelsohn has wowed critics and earned international acclaim with six published books and numerous essays and articles. On Wednesday, April 4, 2012, Mendelsohn will read at Western Connecticut State University from his latest work-in-progress.

“Antigone in Krakow: Reflections on Classics Lost and Found” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in Room 125 of the Science Building on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. A book signing and dessert reception will follow.

Mendelsohn, who holds a doctorate in classics from Princeton University, will be reading from his yet-to-be-published “ODYSSEYS: Adventures in Reading the Greeks.”

Mendelsohn, whose works have appeared regularly in The New Yorker and The New York Times, is the author of “The Elusive Embrace” and “The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million.” Honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, the National Book Critics Circle Citation for Excellence in book Reviewing and the George Jean Nathan Prize for Drama Criticism.
