Department of Art committee to review artist and curator submissions for 2019-20 schedule: WCSU invites proposals for exhibitions at university Art Gallery

DANBURY, CONN. — Established and emerging artists interested in exhibiting their works and curators seeking to arrange a group exhibition at the Art Gallery of the Visual and Performing Arts Center at Western Connecticut State University are invited to submit proposals for the 2019-20 gallery schedule.

Submissions by artists and curators are now being accepted for review by a committee of faculty and staff members of the WCSU Department of Art. The committee will determine which submissions will be selected for the 2019-20 season based on artistic quality, conceptual strength and feasibility of the proposed exhibition. The call for proposals is open to all artists and curators who wish to present new and innovative ideas in the context of an academic gallery space. The deadline for submission is Feb. 1, 2018.

Submissions are not guaranteed selection for exhibition, and will not be considered if they do not follow WCSU guidelines for entry. Proposals must be submitted via email to info.gallery@wcsu.edu. Go to http://wcsu.edu/art/gallery/artist-curatorial-proposals for details and more information. Applicants will receive notification of committee decisions by May 31, 2018. Some submissions that are not chosen for the 2019-20 gallery schedule may be held on file for consideration for inclusion in future exhibitions.
