Guests of all artistic levels invited to participate in Nov. 15 event: ‘Sip & Sculpt’ evening at WCSU pairs art with wine and refreshments

image of clay sculptingDANBURY, CONN. — An entertaining and creative evening that pairs the experience of sculpting artistic work with enjoyment of wine and refreshments will be offered in the “Sip and Sculpt” event to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Western Connecticut State University.

Participants of all skill levels will be guided by an experienced artist in clay hand-building techniques to create an original work of art. The public event will provide the opportunity to work from a live model and to enjoy music, wine and assorted snacks during this shared creative activity. The program will be in the Sculpture Studio, Room 248 of the WCSU Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.

The admission fee is $25 and includes refreshments as well as basic art supplies; participants may bring their own supplies if they wish. Admission to the event is open to adults 21 years of age and older. Tickets may be purchased online at www.wcsuvpac.eventbrite.com. The “Sip and Sculpt” event is sponsored by the Department of Art, the Danbury Cultural Commission, Stew Leonard’s and Caraluzzi’s Wine and Spirits.
