Jimmy Greene's 'Beautiful Life' nominated for two Grammy awards
DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University Coordinator of Jazz Studies and Assistant Professor of Music Jimmy Greene’s CD, Beautiful Life, has been nominated for two Grammy Awards by the Recording Academy. Released by Mack Avenue Records, Beautiful Life pays tribute to Greene’s daughter, Ana Marquez-Greene, who died in the December 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Greene’s moving celebration of his daughter’s life has been nominated for Best Jazz Instrumental Album and Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for the song, “When I Come Home.”
The 58th Grammy Awards will be televised on Feb. 15, 2016, from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
