Ives Concert Park opens with moe., Gov’t Mule

DANBURY, CONN. — Summertime starts early in southwestern Connecticut as Ives Concert Park kicks off its celebrity concert series with back-to-back shows on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, at the outdoor venue located on the Western Connecticut State University Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Initiating the excitement on June 1 is moe. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the opening act is scheduled to take the stage at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 for reserved seats and $20 for lawn seats, plus fees at ticketmaster.com.

Following on June 2 is Southern rock jam band Gov’t Mule, fronted by former Allman Brother Warren Haynes. Formed in 1994, the band has released more than a dozen albums stretching back to 1995 and has cultivated a loyal following among jam band enthusiasts. Opening for Gov’t Mule is Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the opening act is scheduled to take the stage at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 for reserved seats and $20 for lawn seats, plus fees, when purchased in advance at ticketmaster.com.
