Juried quilt show at WCSU
DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University will host the Studio Art Quilt Association of Connecticut’s exhibition, “Local Color,” in the Ruth Haas Library on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury, through June 14. There will be an opening reception from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, in the library.
“Local Color” is a juried, traveling exhibition of fiber art created by members of Studio Art Quilt Associates in the Connecticut region, celebrating the beauty and diversity of Connecticut. The jurors, Fran Phillips and Michele Palmer, chose 49 quilts, made by 36 quilters, to be put on display out of 99 entries.
Studio Art Quilt Associates Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt through education, exhibitions, professional development, documentation and publications.
