April brings open houses, ‘Accepted Students Day’ to WCSU
DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University will host several opportunities in April for the public to learn more about the university, explore undergraduate and graduate-level course offerings, and recently admitted students can celebrate their acceptance.
On Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., those wanting to learn more about graduate programs at Western can attend a Graduate Open House in the Westside Campus Center Ballroom on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Coordinators representing a diverse variety of graduate programs will be available to answer questions. To register or for more information, visit www.wcsu.edu/gradopenhouse/.
Among the programs represented at the Graduate Open House will be: the Ed.D. in Instructional Leadership, Ed.D. in Nursing Education, M.A. in Earth & Planetary Sciences, M.A. in English, M.A. in History, M.A. in Math, the Master of Business Administration, M.F.A. in Creative and Professional Writing, M.F.A. in Visual Arts: Painting & Illustration, M.H.A. in Health Administration, M.S. in Justice Administration, M.S. in Education (Curriculum Leadership, Instructional Technology, Reading, Special Education), M.S. in Music Education, M.S. in Counselor Education (School Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling), M.S. in Nursing and Master of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Education Biology, Secondary Education Mathematics, Secondary Education Spanish). Also available will be information about the Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate.
High school students who have received a letter of admission from Western are invited to Accepted Students Day on Saturday, April 6, 2013. The event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Students and their parents will have an opportunity to meet faculty, coaches and current and future students to find out more about Student Life at Western, including athletics, clubs, study abroad opportunities and student activities. Saturday, April 13, 2013, is the date of the annual Open House for high school students wanting to learn about undergraduate studies at Western. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Feldman Arena of the O’Neill Center on the university’s Westside campus, will feature booths representing Western’s many academic departments; the opportunity to meet faculty, students and coaches; and a campus tour.
