WCSU mourns passing of student
DANBURY, CONN. — Western Connecticut State University is in mourning over the death of a student Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010.
Shaun P. Stebbins, 22, a senior communication major from Old Saybrook, Conn., died at Danbury Hospital where he had been since Tuesday.
WCSU President James W. Schmotter notified the campus of Stebbins’ death in a message Friday morning.
“Western is diminished any time we lose a member of our community, and it is especially sad when that person is a student,” Schmotter said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shaun’s family, fraternity brothers and many friends.”
Stebbins was a member of campus fraternity Sigma Chi.
