A Tribute to Newtown
On Thursday, Dec. 19, WCSU hosted "A Tribute to Newtown" in the Feldman Arena of the O'Neill Center on the university's Westside campus. The event provided an opportunity for the residents of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman to come together to show their support for Newtown and everyone affected by the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The tribute included musical performances by choirs and musicians, as well as remarks by community leaders including WCSU President James W. Schmotter. Over 3000 people attended this event.
