Parent Volunteers
WestConn parents can volunteer in a variety of ways at the university. Since parents are one of the best resources we have for showcasing the university, they are able to represent WestConn at a number of functions:
College Fairs: parents share their expertise and experiences to potential students and their families
Welcome Events: parents host events in their homes or a nearby venue parents where they meet with and to get to know new WestConn families from their geographic area and answer questions students and their parents may have about the WestConn experience.
Orientation: parents assist university staff in welcoming new students and their families to WestConn and help lead workshops for parents of new WestConn students.
Parent Programming/Events: parents help plan events and program designed specifically for parents and families of WestConn students. They work to engage parents in a variety of activities and act as a sounding board for parent comments and concerns, which are passed along to the university's administration.
Career Mentors: parents offer career advice to students.
Support the Parents Fund: Contributions to The Parents Fund enhance the quality of campus life of WestConn students by raising restricted and unrestricted support to assist in providing funds for crucial program enhancements, scholarships, fellowships for students and other important academic programs.
