Charles P. Spiridon
Associate Vice President for Human Resources
Mr. Spiridon has been employed at Western Connecticut State University since July 1998 in the capacity of the Dean of Human Resources Management. Prior to that, Mr. Spiridon had been employed at the County College of Morris (December 1989 through July 1998) and Passaic County Community College (November 1982 through December 1989), both in New Jersey. His entire professional experience has been working in higher education. He has approximately eighteen years experience in human resource and labor relations and has also held positions as a Senior Grants Accountant and Budget Manager.
Mr. Spiridon has considerable experience with collective bargaining, serving both as a chief negotiator and as a member of management bargaining teams. He has broad experience managing human resource operations. His labor relations experience includes work with faculty, administrators, clerical, maintenance, and protective service (police and security). He has represented employers at grievance hearings, arbitrations, EEOC hearings, and served as the University's legal liaison with the Attorney General's Office. He also has experience with the selection and implementation of integrated information systems for human resources and payroll.
Mr. Spiridon holds a B.A. in Business Administration (Accounting major and Computer Science minor) from Rutgers University and a M.S. degree in Human Resources & Industrial Relations from Rutgers University.
