The 20th annual Nutmeg State Games were held in Danbury for the first time, with WCSU hosting many competitions at the Westside Athletic Facility.

The Games attracted 5,384 youngsters (primarily ages 8-18) to its Olympics-style sporting competitions.

“The 2008 Nutmeg State Games were a tremendous success for the City of Danbury,” said Dick Murray, HV Sports president.

The games are endorsed by the Governor’s Committee on Physical Fitness, governed by the National Congress of State Games and recognized by the United States Olympic Committee as the Official State Games of Connecticut.
