Gilles receives awards

The Connecticut Counseling Association presented the Past President Award to Dr. Michael Gilles, assistant professor of Education and Educational Psychology and coordinator of the Community Counseling Program at Western. The award recognized Gilles for his term as immediate past president of the association. He served on a variety of committees with the agency and was instrumental in bringing the Connecticut Counseling Association annual conference to Western and expanding the conference format to a two-day event.

Gilles also received the Counselor-Educator of the Year Award from the North Atlantic Regional Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors (NARACES), which is comprised of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico Rhode Island, Vermont, the Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.

Dr. Michael Gilles has earned national recognition as coordinator of the Community Counseling program and a leader in professional organizations for counselor education.
