Western partners with city to explore traffic safety

In an effort to improve traffic safety around the WCSU Midtown campus, city and university officials held a public meeting to elicit ideas from the community.

The White Street Task Force held a forum on Feb. 23, 2012, in the Student Center on the Midtown campus. The public was invited to present ideas on what could be done to improve traffic, safety and the quality of life on White Street.

The task force was created after several pedestrians were struck by vehicles on White Street near the university. In November 2011, a WCSU student died after being hit by car.
