WCSU Interim President Dr. Manohar Singh

Dr. Manohar Singh, who joined us on August 25, 2023, is a respected educator, administrator and leader in fiscal management, fundraising, community outreach, program building, curriculum development and more. He last served as Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Southern Connecticut State University, and has had faculty and leadership roles at several other universities. Dr. Singh is a first-generation college graduate. In his role as Interim President, Dr. Singh builds on the successful changes of the last two years and works with faculty, staff and students to ensure Western Connecticut State University meets the challenges we face and thrives for the next 120 years.

Representing Western Connecticut State University and acting as the voice of our students, Dr. Singh attended the joint session of the General Assembly on opening day in Hartford.

“Here at the Capitol among allies and supporters,” Dr. Singh said, “here to express our gratitude for their contributions and guidance as they represent our most important constituency — students and families who aspire to change their lives through education — we at Western are dedicated to seeing that aspiration realized and will always advocate for our students. They are the future, and we are so proud to help shape that future, serving our communities and making a positive impact every day.”
