Questions for Discussion 

• What are the distinctive aspects/dimensions of Western Connecticut State University? In other words, why would someone want to come?
• What are the key challenges and opportunities facing Western over the next five to ten years? That is to say, what is the future agenda as it relates to the President’s responsibilities?
• What is the role, what should be the priorities, specifically for the next President with respect to that future agenda?
• Given your responses to all of the above, what are the values, characteristics, skills, and experiences we should be seeking in the search for the new President?

Specific Questions for Planning the Recruitment Phase 

• Beyond the Chronicle, where should we place our final profile and/or briefer notice or ad? Websites, journals, newsletters, other….
• Who might help generate promising leads?  People who know WCSU and other appropriate institutions…people who are good networkers.
• What suggestions do you have? Prospective candidates? Universities which are peers or models?
