Mike Yates wins ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove
ANAHEIM, CA (Jun. 2) -
Western Connecticut State University junior center fielder Mike Yates (Guilford, CT) is the recipient on the 2011 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove.
During his third season, this past spring, Yates did not commit an error in 114 field chances for the 19-18 Colonials. He registered 111 put outs and had three assists.
He is the first Western player ever to receive a Gold Glove.
