Lionel Assie earns NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after sparking the Colonials’ kickoff return unit in Western Connecticut’s home-opening NJAC defeat to Kean.

In the contest, he averaged 39.8 yards per kickoff return on four attempts, accumulating 144 total return yards in the game.

His long return of 64 yards helped set up a WCSU scoring drive in a game in which he registered 162 total all-purpose yards. Assie currently ranks second in the NJAC in all-purpose yards per game (146.0).
