WestConn Highlights -
Freshman Francesca Testa (Cheshire, CT) won the 100-yard butterfly with a time os 1:04.43 and the 50-yard butterfly clocking in at 28.91.  Sarah Koenig (Shelton, CT) finished second in the second round of one-meter dives with a score of 173.55.  With that score, Koenig qualifies for the upcoming New England's on February 16-18.

Westfield State College Highlights -
Lindsay Malboeuf (Westford, MA) won the 50-yard backstroke (30.56) and 100-yard backstroke (1:05.86).  She was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team (2:04.69) along with Katie Piquette (Seekonk, MA), Chrissy Lovejoy (Reading, MA) and Melissa Blain (Somers, CT)
Lindsay Hryniewich (Acton, MA) captured the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.88).
Ariana Mastro (Needham, MA) scored 157.50 and captured first place in the first round of one-meter diving while teammate Stephanie Cooper (Dedham, MA) edged out WestConn's Sarah Koenig in the second round with a score of 176.18.

Western  Connecticut State University Highlights –
Freshman Francesca Testa (Cheshire, CT) won both the 200 butterfly (2:22.69) and 500 freestyle (5:00.54) events.
The Colonials are now 4-4.

Western New England College Highlights –
This was the fourth straight win for the Golden Bears who are now 6-6.
The 200 freestyle relay team of sophomore Jamie Campo (Port Jefferson, NY), senior co-captain Ashley Korbut (South Hadley, MA), junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ), and freshman Krista Goulet (Saco, ME) placed first with a school time of 1 minute, 46.26 seconds.
Campo was a triple winner taking the 50 (26.87), 100 (57.97), and 200 (2:06.15) freestyle events.
Eggert also won both the 50 (36.21) and 200 (2:46.35) breaststroke events.
Goulet captured the 50 (30.65) and 200 (2:23.42) backstroke races, and took second in the 500 freestyle (5:57.18).

EASTERN CONNECTICUT DEFEATS WESTCONN, 139-119

DANBURY, CT - (January 13, 2007) -   Eastern Connecticut State University defeated the Western Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team, 139-119 Saturday afternoon at The O'Neill Pool.
     For the Colonials, now 3-2, Francesca Testa (Cheshire, CT) won the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle and the 50-yard butterfly with times of 1:04.02, 58.33 and 29.52, respectively for the Colonials.
     Heather Thomas (Watertown, CT) won the 200-yard freestyle (2:11.00) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:10.84) for WestConn.
     WestConn's Sarah Koenig (Shelton, CT) captured the one-meter diving event with a score of 169.80.
     Kara Forman (Manchester, CT) and Jessica Wilson (Torrington, CT) each captured two events for the Warriors, now 4-2-1.
     Forman captured the 50-yard backstroke (32.54) and 100-yard backstroke (1:11.01) while Wilson reaped top honors in the 50-yard breaststroke (34.18) and the 50-yard freestyle (27.09) events
     WestConn next travels to University of Bridgeport for a dual meet with the Purple Knights on Friday, January 19 before hosting Hunter College next Saturday, January 20 at 1 p.m.

WESTCONN SINKS MOUNT ST. MARY, 112-59

DANBURY, CT - (January 12, 2007) -  Francesca Testa (Cheshire, CT) won the 200 individual medley, the 100-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke to lead the Western Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team to a convincing 112-59 victory over Mount St. Mary College Friday afternoon at The O'Neill Pool.
     Testa, a graduate of Cheshire High School, registered times of 2:28.78, 59.70 and 1:24.75 in her respective victories for the Colonials.
     Heather Thomas (Watertown, CT) registered wins in the 50-yard freestyle (26.92) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.87) for WestConn.
     Sarah Koenig (Shelton, CT), Kate Veccharelli (Newtown, CT) and Jenelle Hillman (Seymour, CT) also tallied victories in the 200-yard freestyle, 1000-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, respectively.
     Meghan Donleavy (Highland Mills, NY) captured the only individual victory for the Blue Knights, now 3-4, in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:04.48.
     WestConn, now 3-1, will host Eastern Connecticut State University here on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.

Western Connecticut's senior diver Katie Massicotte capped off a fantastic career when she finished in fifth place
on the one-meter board in the 2006 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Assocation Diving Finals
on Saturday, February 11.  On Sunday, Katie placed fifth in the finals of the three-meter diving board with a
332.75 combined score.

2006 NEISDA One-Meter Diving Finals

Western Connecticut's senior diver Katie Massicotte inished in fifth place on the one-meter board in the 2006 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Assocation Diving Finals on Saturday, February 11.

Below are the top six finishers for the New England women divers.

Massicotte placed fifth in the preliminary round while WestConn's Sarah Koenig finished in 10th position.
