Western volleyball drops fourth straight match with two losses at J&W Tourney
PROVIDENCE, RI (Sep. 28) —
The Western Connecticut State University volleyball team lost its fourth consecutive match to fall to 8-8 on the season with a pair of losses to Johnson & Wales and Little East Conference rival Plymouth State on the opening day of competition at the J & W Invitational Friday evening.
The Colonials opened with a 3-1 loss to host Johnson & Wales University, and then dropped a hard-fought five-set match to the Panthers. Western opened up a 2-1 lead after the first three sets, but Plymouth State rallied to win the match, taking the final set 15-13.

Providence, R.I. – The Massachusetts Institute of Technology posted a 2-0 record on day one of the Wildcat Fall Classic, hosted by Johnson & Wales at the Harborside RAC this weekend. Host Johnson & Wales and Plymouth State each had a 1-1 mark while Western Connecticut was 0-2 on the evening.
Action for the final day of the tournament will begin on Saturday, September 29th at 11:00 a.m., when Johnson & Wales takes on Plymouth State with MIT facing off against Western Connecticut.
