Kelley Collins and Jennifer Hogan honored by Little East

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA (Nov. 1) —
Senior libero Kelley Collins (Massapequa, NY) and freshman Jennifer Hogan (Franklin Square, NY) have been named Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 30.

Kelley Collins enjoyed a monster week, tallying 81 digs in 13 games, for an average of 6.23 per game. She also had 11 aces, three assist and three kills in an undefeated, four-win week for the Colonials. Western Connecticut's late push included a pair of conference victories, which secured the fourth seed and home court advantage in the first round of the 2011 Little East Tournament.

Jennifer Hogan dished out 148 assists in 13 games, for an average of 11.38 per game. The freshman tallied nine aces and 12 digs, as the Colonials went 4-0 last week. The Colonials earned the fourth seed, and will
open the 2011 Little East Tournament on its home court when it plays host to fifth-seeded Eastern Connecticut on Wednesday night.
