Melissa Teel and Karli Spera named to the D3Hoops.com Women's All-Northeast Region Team

 MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Mar. 15) —Western Connecticut State University senior center Melissa Teel (Hamden, CT) and Karli Spera (Waterford, CT) have been named to the 2011 D3Hoops.com Women's Basketball Northeast Region All-Star First and Fourth Team, respectively,on Tuesday.
Teel had another fantastic season, averaging 18.2 points, 12.6 rebounds and 4.3 blocked shots for the 24-4 Colonials. She and her team advanced to the second round of the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships for the second-straight season.
Spera averaged 14.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists in her final season. She finished with 56 steals and had a 1.5:1 assist-to-turnover ration this past season.
Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools.

Coach of the Year: G.P. Gromacki, Amherst
Rookie of the Year: Alyssa Leonard, G, Castleton State
