NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA (Mar. 3) —
In conjunction with its Silver Anniversary celebration, the Little East 25th Anniversary Women's Basketball Team was announced this afternoon by the conference office. The 25- student-athlete and one coach squad was comprised by athletic administrators and current coaches. The highly-decorated team is highlighted by 14 player of the year award winners, including six multiple honorees, and five rookie of the year award recipients.
The University of Southern Maine earned the lion's share of the honorees with nine selections, while Eastern Connecticut State University was three picks off the pace. Rhode Island College and Western Connecticut State University each earned three selections, while the University of Massachusetts Boston and Plymouth State University rounded out the honorees with a pair of selections.
To be considered for the 25th anniversary teams, a student-athlete must have met the following criteria: a conference player of the year award winner, and/or a two- time All-Little East, first-team selection. The student-athletes that earned All-Little East, first-team honors during its first two years as a conference-sponsored sport were placed on the ballot.
