Jennifer Ouellet enters her sixth season as the Head Coach of the Western Connecticut State University Women’s Lacrosse team.

Last season, Western enjoyed its most successful season since the program began in 2000. The Colonials went 10-6 overall and were 3-3 in the Little East Conference. They set a program record with 10 wins and appeared in the LEC Tournament for the third straight spring.

In her first two seasons, she guided the Colonials to overall records of 2-14 and 2-12, and 1-5 in Little East Conference action both seasons. In 2008 the team improved to 4-14 overall, and again posted a 1-5 conference record.

In 2009, the Colonials went 9-9 overall and were 2-4 in the Little East Conference.

Ouellet, a former field hockey and lacrosse standout and 2002 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, comes to Western after two seasons as the Corsairs’ Head Field Hockey Coach.

She attended and graduated from the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy.

In 2004, she began her collegiate coaching career as an Assistant Coach for the UMass Dartmouth women’s lacrosse team.

Ouellet enjoyed a distinguished athletic career at UMass Dartmouth from 1998 through 2002. The 1998 Little East Conference Rookie of the Year, Ouellet was also a LEC All-Conference, All-Tournament and Outstanding Athletic Achievement winner during the 1999 season. A 2000 Outstanding Athletic Achievement winner for a second year, Burrows was selected as team captain for the Corsiars during her senior season of 2002.

Last January, she married Western's head men's lacrosse coach Jason Ouellet. They are expecting their first child in May.
