Western netters blanked in season opener against Purchase College
DANBURY, CT (Sep. 12) — The Western Connecticut State University women's tennis team opened the season with an 8-0 loss to Purchase College at Westside Courts on Monday afternoon.
Freshman Stefani Signorello (Meriden, CT) was battling Alyson Lopez before the match was called due to darkness after each won a set, 7-6, at number five singles.
At third solos, Alyssa Panasci (Goshen, CT) dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to Melissa Siller.
Purchase improves to 2-1 on the season.
Western travels to St. Joseph College in West Hartford for another non-confernce match this Thursday at 4 pm.
