Eric Yates, a 2012 graduate of Otterbein University, is embarking on his first college coaching position.

While coaching football, basketball and baseball at the middle and high school level in Ohio, he completed his degree in Middle Childhood Education.

Yates, a native of Dublin, Ohio, had a tremendous high school career at Dublin Scioto High School as a three year starter at running back compiling over 3,500 career rushing yards and holding the team record of 42 rushing touchdowns.

He attended the U.S. Naval Preparatory School in Newport, Rhode Island in 2004, and the U.S. Naval Academy from 2005 to 2007. He left the Naval Academy and continued his education and football career at the Otterbein University.

Yates was a key component as a running back at Otterbein University, helping to lead his team to a 9-2 record in 2008 and 8-2 in 2009. The 2008 squad made the NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time in school history.
