Carly Murphy named Little East Conference

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA (Feb. 21) — Junior guard/forward Carly Murphy (Wolcott, CT) has been named Little East Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending February 19.

Carly Murphy averaged a double-double—14.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game—to lift Western
Connecticut to a 1-1 week against Little East opponents.

The junior guard from Wolcott, Conn. reached double figures in scoring in each contest. On Feb. 14, Murphy scored 15 points and pulled in six rebounds at Rhode Island College.

Four days later, she posted her fourth double-double of the season against Plymouth State, scoring 14 points and collecting a season-high 16 boards.

The Colonials' victory over the Panthers locked up the fourth seed for Western.

Courtney Cochran became the 20th Southern Maine women's basketball player to score at least 1,000 points in their career with her 13th point of the first half in a 74-52 win over Plymouth State University. In 24 minutes against the Panthers, the senior from Waite, Maine recorded 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. In the Huskies' regular season finale, Cochran recorded her 13th double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds in just 23 minutes at UMass Dartmouth.
