Diane Bennett, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, Department of Nursing

Diane Bennett joins Western Connecticut State University as a full time assistant professor. Previous higher education experience includes adjunct faculty at the University of Hartford in the RN-BSN program, as well as an adjunct position at W.C.S.U. in the spring of 2015. Diane has worked in a variety of acute care settings, with a primary focus in maternal-newborn nursing. She graduated from the Arnot-Ogden Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1979; she received her BSN from Beth-El College of Nursing in 1991, and her MSN from the University of Hartford in 1999. In addition to education of both RNs and LPNs, Diane has served as the manager of clinical education at Milford Hospital. During her time in this position, she served as the initial chair for the Nursing Practice Council.

Diane is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the National League for Nursing (NLN), and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). She holds certificates through the National Certification Center (NCC) in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing since 1991, as well as Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM). Diane is certified to instruct EFM through AWHONN, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program through AHA and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Diane continues to practice in the acute care setting.
