Faculty Biographical Sketches
Karen Crouse, Department of Nursing
Dr. Crouse joined the faculty in fall 2002. Dr. Crouse became Chair of the Department of Nursing in Fall 2007. She holds the rank of Associate Professor. Dr. Crouse received an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Hartford, a senior professional certificate in Health Care Management from the University of New Haven, a MS in Nursing from Sacred Heart University and a BSN from St. Anselm College. Dr. Crouse is a board Certified Emergency Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner. In 2005, she was honored by Yale-New Haven Hospital with a Nightingale Award for nursing excellence. Research interests include the lived experience of newly licensed Registered Nurses in emergency departments, death in the emergency department and the rise of retail health care in the United States. Dr. Crouse teaches across the curriculum. Dr. Crouse is the former Vice-President of the CT Nurses Association.
