Eileen “Pat” Geraci, Department of Nursing
Ms. Eileen “Pat” Geraci, who is a Professor of Nursing, graduated from Pace University where she received both her Associate and Baccalaureate degrees in Nursing. She completed her MA degree in Teaching Nursing in 1981, and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Connecticut in the Educational Leadership Department in Adult and Vocational Education. In 1999, Pat also earned a Post-Master’s Certificate in Adult Nurse Practitioner from WCSU; and is currently Board-Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. In addition to teaching on both the graduate and undergraduate levels, she is professionally practicing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in a private pulmonary and internal medicine practice in Fairfield, CT where she emphasizes health care prevention strategies and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
Pat joined the WCSU faculty in 1986. Her primary specialties are Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing and Adult Health Nursing. Her research interests lie in investigating the effects of computerization on nurses and nursing practice. Some of her publications include: Computers in Home Care: Application of Change Theory in Computers in Home Care, Computers in Home Care Revisited: A Follow-up Study. Additional areas of study center on use of electronic professional portfolios for formative and summative assessments in advanced practice nursing students. She has also published continuing education programs on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome: A poly-system problem, in Nursing Spectrum, Dec. 2002.
