To nominate your student organization for an award, please follow the instructions on the
Student Organization Award Application Form
by March 15, 2013.  

Student Organization Invitation Forms for individual students are due as soon as possible and no later than April 5, 2013.  In order for students' names to appear in the program, names need to be submitted no later than this date.

Use the Additional Student Invitation Form to become a sponsor and/or invite additional students.

Invitations will be mailed out to students and parents as requested.  Everyone invited should let us know no later than April 26, 2013 if they are going to attend. 

If your organization would like to become a sponsor and make a donation, the following levels are available.

Gold Level - $300 will permit 7 additional guests
                              (one reserved table of 10)

            Blue Level - $115 will permit 2 additional guests
                              (1/2 reserved table of 5)

Parents

Parents are very welcome to attend this special celebration but are asked to pay for their meal.  Students should let us know if they would like their parents to be invited and a separate invitation detailing the costs will be sent to the parents.

History

The Student Leadership Recognition Banquet is an annual event that celebrates and recognizes the achievements of WestConn's student leaders through a festive banquet and awards ceremony attended by students, parents, faculty and staff alike. 

The banquet was first held in 1985 and has grown in attendance and significance ever since.  Held at first on campus and then at various locations in the Greater Danbury area, the last few years have seen it held consistently at the elegant Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury.  In 2011 the banquet was held at The Matrix Conference and Banquet Center in the old Union Carbide building in Danbury but will return to the Amber Room in 2012.

The event is held annually, usually in early May, and has grown from just a few to as many as 500 guests at one time.  Every year student organizations are asked to name two members deserving of recognition who will be invited to the banquet along with the organization's advisor.  Additional club members and parents may also be invited at cost and will be sent invitations upon request.
