Will I have access to e-mail and the internet?

No, you will not have access to email or the internet.

How are the rooms in residence halls assigned? Am I guaranteed a roommate?

Students are assigned rooms based on their gender, age, and grade. Every student will be placed in a double or triple room with a roommate. You may request a specific roommate.

I am on a special diet. Are special meal plans available?

The dining services at WestConn offer a wide variety of food at every meal, and are able to accommodate vegetarian diets. Any other special diets can be accommodated with advanced notice at no added charge.

How do students spend their free evenings?

There are organized sports and recreational activities planned during extended free time periods. Students may also opt to practice during free times.

What arrangements are made for students who need to take medication on a regular basis?

The health supervisor at WCSU will administer all prescription medications to students as directed by a physician, as well as over the counter medications as needed.

How do I know what to bring?

DORMITORY ITEMS: Bedsheets (REGULAR TWIN SIZE), pillows, blankets, toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, ext), shower shoes, towels, hangers, alarm clock, fan

CLOTHING: Neat, casual hot weather clothing. T-shirts and shorts are recommended. Bring comfortable shoes. A sweater or sweatshirt is recommended for air-conditioned classrooms

CONCERT DRESS: Bring khaki shorts, camp t shirt will be supplied!

INSTRUMENTS: Make sure to bring extra reeds, cork grease, valve oil, mouthpieces, mutes, strings and any extra items you may need to keep it in working order. Don’t forget a pencil!

EXTRA ITEMS: PENCILS! Camera & film, Spending money, calling card (even if it’s a local call) NOTE: there are no change machines in the music building or dorms.

DO NOT BRING TVs, Computers, hand held video games, telephones, jewelry and any unnecessary personal belongings that are of value to you.

What is the dress code?

Students are allowed to wear shorts and casual summer apparel during the day.

Are students allowed to have guests stay in their rooms overnight?

No, we are unable to accommodate overnight guests on our campus.

Does WCSU accept credit cards?

No, we do not accept credit cards. All payment must be in the form of cash, check, or money order payable to WCSU.
