Patricia W. Ivry, MSW, LCSW, Professor
Ms. Ivry has been teaching at WestConn since 1980 and served as Chair from 1990 – 2001. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Goucher College and a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work and has done advanced studies at the City University of New York.
Ms. Ivry's experience and expertise are in areas relating to diversity, human behavior, program development and social policy formulation and analysis. In addition to teaching, Ms. Ivry leads advocacy groups, consults in program planning and implementation, consults with Boards of Directors and served as a Commissioner on the Council of Social Work Education's Commission on Education Policy (1995 – 2001). She currently Chairs the Program Activity and Professional Development Committee for the Association of Baccalaureate Program Directors.
Ms. Ivry is the Director of the Executive Forum of Western Connecticut State University, a capacity building initiative in the nonprofit sector. She serves on several Boards of Directors of Nonprofit organizations, and has been an active volunteer in her local school district for the past 25 years.
