Dr. Veneziano joined the Social Work Faculty
in 2000, after teaching at Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford. He holds
a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State
University, a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of
Connecticut, and a doctorate in Anthropology with a focus on family studies from
the University of
Connecticut.
Dr. Veneziano
has a strong practice background in both direct practice with adolescents
and families, and in program administration. His research is about
relationships among fathers and their children and he has published
extensively on the topic. He served as President of the Society for
Cross-Cultural Research and as a reviewer for the Journal of Marriage and
Families, ETHOS, Fathering: A Journal of Theory, Research, and Practice
About Men as Fathers, Cross-Cultural Research: The Journal of Comparative of
Comparative Social Science, and others. He currently serves on the
University’s Assessment Committee and the Research and Development
Committee, served as Chair of the University’s Minority Recruitment and
Retention Committee and of the Committee on Distance Education, and also
serves on the SPS Assessment and Program Review Committees.
