Rob
is currently completing his masters in education and teacher certification
at Sacred Heart His wife Andrea (Drobish) Kennedy is his co director/ choreographer and Peter Randazzo (who also has WestConn ties) is his musical director. They produced How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, The Who's Tommy, Grease, Into the Woods and this year we will debut Disney's Beauty and the Beast. They were chosen by the licensing company Music Theater International as their customer showcase in March of 2005. ( http://www.mtishows.com/showcases/2005_Mar_SheltonHSDC.asp)Prior to his teaching career, Rob worked in local theaters around Connecticut including the Seven Angels Theater, The Westport Country Playhouse, The Polka Dot and the Connecticut Actors Ensemble. He was also in the first national tour of To Kill a Mockingbird for the National Theatre for the Performing Arts. He directed many shows at local community theaters and had to chance to direct a large scale cabaret at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven for the Spirit of Life organization. In July he was invited to participate in the Broadway.com, Broadway Teaching Lab where he spent three days studying with the performers and creators of the Broadway shows; The Jersey Boys, the History Boys, The Drowsy Chaperone, Sweeney Todd, Avenue Q, Tarzan, The Color Purple and The 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He created a theatre company in 2000 called the Nutmeg Repertory where he serves as artistic director. Western alumni Bob Green '94 directed the third production of The Glass Menagerie. He occasionally still acts. Summer 2006 he played Serge in the play ART at a small professional theatre called Center Stage in Shelton, CT. He is returning there again this summer for an August production of the comedy; The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). Rob has been married to Andrea Drobish Kennedy for eight years. Andrea attended WCSU for a few years and they have two children; Ryan and Grace. Ryan made his theatrical debut last summer in production of The King and I when he played the youngest price of the king. He can be reached at robbyk1005@yahoo.com. He says, "I completed 90% of my course work at WCSU and consider it the place where I received all of my education." |
