Tropical Meteorology I

Tropical Meteorology I
Thursday, February 21st, 2008 and ran from ~4:00-4:30pm
Presentation/discussion led by Quincy Vagell, a 3rd year Meteorology student
Location: SB 269

The objective of this session was to explore Tropical Meteorology, with a focus on the North Atlantic Ocean. Inspiration stems from Meteorology students who wanted to further explore tropical cyclones, including hurricanes. The formation, evolution and structure of tropical cyclones were discussed. There are many aspects of Tropical Meteorology that could be considered, but this will look to focus on key fundamentals.

In addition to the discussion that went along with the presentation, some historical hurricane data was also viewed.
