The WESTCONNect Office provides identification cards and access for all students, faculty and staff of Western Connecticut State University. If you are a new member of the university community, select from the below options to learn how to obtain your ID and related access and card privileges If you are a contractor seeking access on campus, please coordinate through your university contact.

New Student

Once you have registered for your classes, you are eligible to receive a WESTCONNect ID Card.  Your valid WESTCONNect ID card can provide a multitude of access rights and privileges including:

• Access to the three Student 24-hour Computer Labs

• Access to the Midtown Commuter Parking garage (Commuter Students Only)

• Access to your Residence Hall/Room (Resident Students Only)

• Access to restricted areas related to fields of study, including labs, practice rooms, and studios, as authorized

• Ability to check out materials at the WCSU Library

• Ability to use the CONNect Cash program

• Use of ConnectPrint Program, printing at designated locations on campus

• Ability to sign up for  Student Advantage Discount Program

• Ability to use Fitness Facilities

• Free or reduced rate entrance to a variety of University events

Once you have registered for classes, bring a copy of your class registration along with a photo ID such as a driver's license or passport to the WESTCONNect Card Office.  We will then take your photo and issue your ID card.  Please note that the ID card is only valid during semesters when you are a registered student.  To learn more about our card services, click here.   To learn more about our door access and security controls, click here.

New Employee

WCSU employees use their WESTCONNect ID's for:

• Access to authorized buildings and classrooms on campus

• Copy privileges at specified copier locations

• Ability to check out materials at the WCSU Library

• Ability to use the CONNect Cash program

• Ability to use Fitness Facilities

The WESTCONNect Office is able to process new employees who have visited the Human Resources Department located on the first floor of University Hall.  Once you have obtained an authorization form from HR, bring that document along with a valid photo identification, such as a driver's license or passport, to the WESTCONNect Office at the back of Old Main.  To learn more about our card services, click here.  To learn more about our door access and security controls, click here.
