Steve Brodner is an illustrator, caricaturist and political commentator working for publications in the U.S. since the 1970’s. He received his BFA from Cooper Union in 1976 and began his long career as a freelance illustrator with the New York Times Book Review in 1977. The list of magazines and newspapers to which he has contributed sly commentary on controversial subjects and political events includes: Harper’s, National Lampoon, Rolling Stone, Spy, Esquire, The New Yorker, The Nation, Village Voice, The Washington Post, LA Times, and many more.

In 2008, Brodner became the first living illustrator to have a major career retrospective at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA. In over thirty years he has received numerous awards from the Society of Illustrators, Art Directors Club, Society of Publication Designers, National Cartoonists Society, Communication Arts, among others. He has also worked in film and television, including PBS for “Frontline” and “Need to Know”. Since 1993 he has taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology and has also taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he resides.
