Born in Danbury, CT, Erin Walrath earned her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, where she was selected for the European Honors Program in Rome, and her MFA from Western CT State University. In her twenties, she set up temporary studios in Vicenza, Italy, North Yorkshire, England and Brooklyn, NY. In 2004, Walrath returned to Connecticut where she established her current studio in Danbury. She lives in Roxbury with her husband, Peter and their three children. Walrath works primarily in mixed media including books and other discarded materials and exhibits her sculpture, assemblage and installation work regularly.
