My artwork reflects my critical views on nature, culture, and Christian beliefs and values. I incorporate many styles including illustration, drawings, and photographs. The one tool I could not live without is my sketchbook. This is where I lay out tangible forms of all my ideas, thoughts, and inspirations. It is here I am able to express my thoughts, emotions, and perspective of the things I observe. It is where I show what is on my mind. Therefore, I sketch whenever I feel inspired or for that matter, whenever I feel bored. It is in my sketchbook where I learn more about myself, and the world learns more about my mind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

Within my works, I depict what is real, what is silly, and what is decorative, inspired by what I observe in the world around me. While experiencing my environment, ideas for my subject matter come to mind. I can choose to observe and replicate, manipulate what I see, or have the medium at hand take me wherever my subconscious wants it to go.<\/p>\n

Artist Statement<\/p>\n

I want to wring hypocrisy\u2019s neck and tell it who\u2019s boss. I want to make room for natural, spontaneous and guiltless creation, because it\u2019s an expired artform.
\nI\u2019m an eclectic machine. My illustrations are for me, first, then for those who need them. I don\u2019t know what my work is, and never have; I like sharp edges and organic messes. When it\u2019s not technical, it\u2019s sentimental and sometimes horrifically unusual and cryptic. It\u2019s about people, and me (whatever me is), and things that happened to be so weird they became normal.<\/p>\n

Thesis Statement<\/p>\n

Portraits of Monsters
\nWhat Is a monster? What does the embodiment of a person's energy, emotions, and thoughts look like? There are no monsters but there are things that are indescribable and monstrous. These portraits of monsters were inspired by nightmares, surrealist automatism, and psycho-emotional health. Each image is a snapshot of these feelings we are forced to confront\u2014those that are heavy and also fleeting.<\/p>\n
