Eric Aho is an artist living in Vermont, known for his gestural, abstracted paintings that evoke natural forms. He received a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and studied at the Central School of Art and Design in London. In 1989 he participated in the first exchange of graduate scholars in over thirty years between the U.S. and Cuba. He completed his graduate work at the Lahti Art Institute in Finland, supported by a Fulbright Fellowship and an American-Scandinavian Foundation Grant.<\/p>\n

Aho is represented by D.C. Moore Gallery in NYC, where he has had solo exhibitions in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2017. His work was shown last winter at the Hood Museum of Art in Hanover, NH, in a show entitled \u201cEric Aho: Ice Cuts\u201d. Also in 2016, the New Britain Museum of American Art presented \u201cEric Aho: An Unfinished Point in a Vast Surrounding\u201d, which included paintings of the French landscape, exploring his father\u2019s experience in WW II.<\/p>\n

Aho is a recipient of numerous grants and awards, including a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant, the John Koch Award for Painting from the National Academy and an Artist Residency at the Weir Farm National Historic Site. His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The NY Public Library, National Academy Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, and many others.<\/p>\n
