Amy Smith-Stewart is Curator at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT. She has curated more than sixty exhibitions in museums and galleries, and has worked previously as Curator at MoMA PS1 and as Curatorial Advisor at Mary Boone Gallery in New York. She is the founder of Smith-Stewart, a nomadic NYC gallery that formerly operated on the lower east side and became an early model for pop-up exhibitions. She received a BA in Art History from New York University and a MA from The University of Manchester, Sotheby\u2019s Institute of Art in London.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Smith-Stewart\u2019s recent exhibitions at the Aldrich include \u201cRuth Root: Old, Odd and Oval\u201d, the artist\u2019s first museum solo exhibition; and \u201cJackie Winsor: With and Within\u201d, the artist\u2019s first museum survey since 1997. Her current exhibitions at the Aldrich include site-specific commissions by Virginia Overton and David Brooks, \u201cContinuous Service Altered Daily\u201d. Forthcoming shows include Suzanne McClelland, a twenty-five year survey; and a group exhibition \u201cObjects like Us\u201d, co-curated with artist David Adamo.<\/p>\n
