As the <strong data-start=\"445\" data-end=\"533\">Director of the Career Success Center at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU)<\/strong>, she oversees the applied learning\/co-op program and workforce development for lifelong learners, helping students and alumni connect their education to meaningful careers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"1129\">Debbie\u2019s ability extends across workforce development, having worked with <strong data-start=\"740\" data-end=\"770\">Capital Workforce Partners<\/strong> and a network of <strong data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"812\">Chambers of Commerce<\/strong> including Danbury, Northwestern, Waterbury, New Haven, and Middletown. She was instrumental in implementing a <strong data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"970\">Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA)<\/strong> certification program, where she coached veterans, homeless individuals, and the long-term unemployed, helping them gain the skills to find and retain jobs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1679\">With a background that includes <strong data-start=\"1163\" data-end=\"1253\">human resources, management, real estate, information technology, and public relations<\/strong>, Debbie brings a diverse perspective to her career coaching. She is also a <strong data-start=\"1329\" data-end=\"1356\">certified r\u00e9sum\u00e9 writer<\/strong> who has crafted more than <strong data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1418\">4,000 r\u00e9sum\u00e9s and cover letters<\/strong>, and she runs a variety of workshops to help students and alumni brand themselves and land their dream jobs. In addition, she actively networks with over <strong data-start=\"1573\" data-end=\"1612\">23,000 national and local employers<\/strong>, making sure the WCSU community has access to top opportunities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1681\" data-end=\"2269\">Debbie\u2019s dedication to workforce development is reflected in her memberships with the <strong data-start=\"1767\" data-end=\"1824\">National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1826\" data-end=\"1865\">Connecticut Career Consortium (CCC)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1867\" data-end=\"1916\">National Association of R\u00e9sum\u00e9 Writers (NARW)<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"1926\" data-end=\"1975\">Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM)<\/strong>. She is also certified as a <strong data-start=\"2004\" data-end=\"2031\">Career Launch\u00ae educator<\/strong> and has completed certification with the <strong data-start=\"2073\" data-end=\"2107\">Experiential Educator Academy\u00ae<\/strong> from the Society for Experiential Education (SEE). A <strong data-start=\"2161\" data-end=\"2210\">graduate of Danbury Leadership, Class of 2020<\/strong>, Debbie knows the power of strong community connections.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2271\" data-end=\"2731\">Academically, Debbie holds a <strong data-start=\"2300\" data-end=\"2325\">B.A. in Communication<\/strong> from <strong data-start=\"2331\" data-end=\"2371\">Central Connecticut State University<\/strong> and a <strong data-start=\"2378\" data-end=\"2410\">M.Ed. from Cambridge College<\/strong>, with concentrations in <strong data-start=\"2435\" data-end=\"2471\">school counseling and psychology<\/strong>. She is also a <strong data-start=\"2487\" data-end=\"2541\">graduate of the Connecticut School of Broadcasting<\/strong> and spent 12 years working in <strong data-start=\"2572\" data-end=\"2598\">media and broadcasting<\/strong> before transitioning to leadership roles in Career Services at <strong data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2704\">New Horizon\u2019s Computer Learning Center<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2709\" data-end=\"2728\">Post University<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2733\" data-end=\"3246\">A passionate community advocate, Debbie has volunteered for over <strong data-start=\"2798\" data-end=\"2812\">100 causes<\/strong> and raised more than <strong data-start=\"2834\" data-end=\"2845\">$40,000<\/strong> for veterans and cancer research. She proudly held the titles of <strong data-start=\"2911\" data-end=\"2950\">Mrs. Connecticut United States 2016<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2955\" data-end=\"2994\">Mrs. Connecticut International 2019<\/strong>, showcasing her dedication and drive. With her love for the stage, she has performed <strong data-start=\"3080\" data-end=\"3116\">stand-up comedy in New York City<\/strong> and is a <strong data-start=\"3126\" data-end=\"3171\">former singer with the Connecticut U.S.O.<\/strong>, demonstrating her ability to think on her feet and bring joy to others.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3248\" data-end=\"3921\">As the <strong data-start=\"3255\" data-end=\"3287\">Vice Regent (Vice President)<\/strong> of her <strong data-start=\"3295\" data-end=\"3349\">Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) chapter<\/strong>, Debbie continues to honor her heritage and lead with purpose through initiatives that celebrate history, education, and patriotism. She also serves on the <strong data-start=\"3506\" data-end=\"3561\">Board of Directors for The Patriots\u2019 Day Initiative<\/strong>, a nonprofit organization committed to honoring, preserving, and promoting the legacy of American patriotism through education, remembrance events, and community engagement. In this role, she contributes her leadership, advocacy, and fundraising expertise while helping to shape impactful programs that connect communities through history and shared values.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3923\" data-end=\"4197\">A <strong data-start=\"3925\" data-end=\"3967\">direct descendant of the Filles du Roi<\/strong>, Debbie embodies a spirit of service, strength, and inspiration.
