{"id":1178,"date":"2021-01-11T13:27:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-11T18:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/celt\/?p=1178"},"modified":"2021-01-11T13:27:00","modified_gmt":"2021-01-11T18:27:00","slug":"2021-ct-oer-grant-program-information-sessions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wcsu.edu\/celt\/2021\/01\/11\/2021-ct-oer-grant-program-information-sessions\/","title":{"rendered":"2021 CT OER Grant Program &amp; Information sessions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Call for Applications<\/strong>\u00a0for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/app.smarterselect.com\/programs\/69619-Connecticut-Oer-Coordinating-Council\"><strong>Connecticut Open Educational Resources Grant Program<\/strong><\/a><strong> is open for all Connecticut faculty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During its inaugural year, the grant program was able to support\u00a0<strong>1,015 students<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>13 different institutions<\/strong>\u00a0across\u00a0<strong>60 course sections<\/strong>\u00a0to avoid over\u00a0<strong>$171,000<\/strong>\u00a0in textbook costs. The grant program focuses on OER opportunities in \u201chigh impact\u201d areas \u2013 courses with high enrollment and high textbook costs for which high-quality OER already exists.<\/p>\n<p>The Connecticut Open Education Resources Grant Program is available to all Connecticut higher education institutional faculty and will support projects in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Review \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Evaluate an openly licensed textbook or other open content related to your course(s)\/ discipline and write a review for public display. Where possible, student involvement in the review is strongly encouraged.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adoption \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Adopt an existing open textbook or open course content with little to no changes made to the content.\u00a0 Where possible, student involvement is strongly encouraged. This is for an individual faculty member seeking to transform their course by adopting OER materials.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supplemental \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Develop missing ancillaries for currently adopted OER such as quiz question banks, lecture slides, or lab manuals. Where possible, student involvement is strongly encouraged. This is for an individual faculty member seeking to substantively supplement their adopted OER materials.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Impact \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0For collaborative, larger-scale proposals not covered by the categories above that demonstrate a high impact on student success through the use of OER.
