Novel Coronavirus and COVID-19

March 18th – President’s Message to Faculty/Staff

March 18, 2020

Dear colleagues,

I want to express my deep appreciation for your understanding and cooperation with the measures we have taken to protect our university community from the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we move online for the balance of the semester, our default mode of work will become telework, and we wanted to be clear regarding employee presence on campus:

No employee is to come to campus unless they have been informed by their manager that they are designated as essential. This may be communicated through email, direct phone contact, text, or other electronic means.

Our goal will be to minimize the essential designation to the greatest extent possible. Your status may change as we move through the rest of the semester, so please maintain regular contact with your manager.

I want to reiterate that all faculty and professional staff are free to collect any remaining items from your offices. Please do so before close of business on Friday, March 20.

All other employees NOT designated by their manager as essential should continue to telework as previously directed.

We are updating the FAQ page regularly, so check in there for updates https://wcsu.edu/coronavirus/faq-for-all-wcsu-employees/.

We appreciate all the sacrifices you have made and your understanding of the university’s efforts to respond to COVID-19. Thank you for all you are doing and please let your supervisor know of any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

John Clark

President
